Professor of Marketing and Market Research in the Department of Business Economics at Carlos III University of Madrid. Ph.D. in Economics and Business Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid.
Besides, he holds a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Washington (USA), a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and a BA in Economics from the University of Santiago de Compostela. His teaching focuses on the areas of International Marketing, Strategic Marketing and Brand Management in both graduate and postgraduate degrees. He is currently Co-Director of the Master’s in International Business Management at the University Carlos III of Madrid and permanent advisor to the Forum of Renowned Spanish Brands (entity sponsored by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade).

His areas of academic interest focus on international brand management, economic and financial valuation of brands, internationalization strategies and business management in transition and emerging economies and relationship between the effect of the country image and national brands. His books include "International Marketing: New Perspectives for a Globalized Market" (2008, 2nd edition), published by Pirámide, and "Leading Brands of Spain" (2003), edited by the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade. Among his awards we can highlight the Twelfth Annual Award 2009 of the Circle of Entrepreneurs of Spain on Economic Research, for the paper ‘The Image of Spain and Competitiveness: A necessary action plan for the future of Spanish economy and companies’, conducted jointly with Professors Jaime Rivera and Ruben Marcos.
